Audiobooks are some of my favorite projects to work on. After all, who wouldn’t love being read to as a job? I enjoy the whole process, from meeting the author and/or narrator to the time spent together recording to the detailed attention given to editing, and the final thrill of uploading the audiobook for distribution. As an audio engineer, I’ve worked with many top book publishers – Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, Hachette, Macmillan, and more. So, I know the level of quality they expect, and I bring that same treatment to every project I work on. As a narrator and performer, I also understand the process from the performance side: the importance of comfort, the reassurance that you’re doing a good job, and the physical and mental challenge of reading a book accurately word for word out loud – especially when the material is sensitive and personal. When you work with me, you’re working with a partner who will read along with you, speak up when there’s an inaccuracy or when the performance needs a little something different, and who supports you the whole way through. I especially love working with self-published and small publisher authors, helping them bring their stories to life through audio. And for some authors, it’s been their dream to not only write a book, but to narrate it, too! It is such a joy helping someone achieve this goal.
